Orthodontist
Daniel Wright, DMD
Locations: Freeport IL & Monroe WI
I absolutely love orthodontics because it’s so much more than straightening teeth – it transforms smiles and boosts confidence, sometimes changing someone’s entire outlook on life. I can’t imagine a better job, and feel blessed to be able to do this every day!
Dr. Daniel Wright grew up in Ruston, Louisiana and Geneva, Illinois. He earned his bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Alabama in 2014. After completing dental school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2018, Dr. Wright served on active duty in the United States Navy as a Dental Corps Officer from 2018-2022.
When he finished his Navy service in 2022, Dr. Wright earned his master's degree in Orthodontics from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. In his free time, Dr. Wright enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends, traveling, and playing guitar. He is very excited to work with Dr. Walker, our team, and our patients and serve the Freeport and Monroe communities.

I feel like being an orthodontist is the best job in the world. I get to work with people who care about their health and want to be their best. I thoroughly enjoy interacting with patients and helping them achieve their goal of a great smile that will be a powerful asset their entire life.
I never get tired of seeing the delight in the eyes of patients when their braces come off and they see their new smile for the first time. Orthodontic treatment had a profound effect on me as a youth. I became interested in orthodontics when a family friend invited my sister and I to be his patients in his orthodontic specialty training at Northwest University Dental School in Chicago. My orthodontic care was a transforming experience for me and my self-confidence. I was fascinated by all aspects of my treatment and I decided at the age of 12 to make orthodontics my career. My enthusiasm for the profession and what a difference it can make for people motivated me to do my very best in the 11 years of college that were required.

Outside the Office
My wife is Kimella; we first dated as freshmen at college and finally married six years later. Kimella is creative, artistic, and a people person. Most importantly, she is my rock and my best friend.
We have five boys and two girls, all grown and married, as well as eleven grandchildren. With all the varied interests, family reunions are a blast! We like to sing, watch classic movies, cook, eat, and play games together. When Kimella and I have free time, we like to go to square dances and travel to visit family.
My commitment to the Freeport and Monroe communities is just as strong as my commitment to my profession. I am actively involved with the Freeport Rotary Club as President, Boy Scouts of America (past Scoutmaster), and the Church of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Walker has been a wonderful teacher and mentor since I joined his office in 1993, and I have learned a plethora of valuable information from him. I work with patients during their initial appointments to gather records and X-rays, assist Dr. Walker and Dr. Wright in proposing treatment plans that are individualized for each patient’s needs, review the plan details with patients, and set up financial arrangements.
I enjoy being able to explain to patients what it will look like once we transform their smile into a straight, healthy smile. The excitement for the patients when they are starting treatment is a great feeling—I am always so happy for them!
I have two children: a girl and a boy. I enjoy spending time with them, watching my daughter play volleyball and my son play basketball. We also have 2 goldendoodles named Oliver and Oakley, they are sweet dogs. I enjoy staying active working out, playing pickle ball, and riding my bike.

I look forward to being the first friendly face that welcomes you at Walker & Wright Orthodontics. I enjoy interacting with all the patients and making their experience here a positive one. I feel fortunate to have found such an amazing group of professionals to work alongside.
When I'm not at work, I love spending time with my husband and two daughters, watching my girls at all their sporting events, and refinishing all the furniture I can get my hands on!

I joined Dr. Walker’s office in 2006, where I feel like part of a very special family. Dr. Walker, Dr. Wright, and our staff come together every day with one mission in mind: providing the absolute best care for our patients. I enjoy working with each person individually to offer advice and education about how to care for their braces and teeth throughout their treatment.
The best part of my job is seeing all the happy smiles!
My husband and I moved back to the area in 2006, just after I graduated from cosmetology school. I was looking for a job and was fortunate that Dr. Walker was hiring and chose me to be a part of his team! Since then, my husband and I have had one daughter, Maddyx, she is very active in volleyball and recently got her braces off!

I began my orthodontic career in 1987. I’ll make sure you’re comfortable in the chair and explain what we’ll be doing during each adjustment. It is rewarding to see smiles transformed. While your finished smile is going to be wonderful, I’m just as excited to learn about your life and become your friend!
My husband Bill and I have a rescue dog named Greta. In our free time, we enjoy taking rides in our side by side.

I began my career in orthodontics when I joined Dr. Walker's Team in October 2023 as an orthodontic assistant. It is such a treat seeing everyone's beautiful smiles every day. My goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for everyone at each appointment while teaching them to take care of their braces.
I love to meet everyone and learn of their fun life stories. I can even share my own experiences now that I have begun my own orthodontic treatment.
I graduated from Orangeville High School and went to Highland Community College. After working as a phlebotomist, I learned I love to work with patients and pursued my dream of working in the dental field. I have been renovating a house from the inside-out for the past year. I enjoy spending time with my friends and relaxing with my two fur babies, Tux and Bean.
